Welcome to the magical world of Harry Potter! In this book club, we will read several chapters of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone each week, then meet up on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a discussion of the book and some magical Harry Potter-themed activities.
You will:
- Make your own magic wand
- Learn which Hogwarts House you belong in
- Invent spells and potions
- Dive deeper into the book with a group of your fellow witches and wizards
- And so much more!
We'll apply close reading strategies to each chapter, and students will lead their own deep discussions about the book, promoting critical thinking skills and confidence in sharing their ideas with a group. Whether this is your first time reading Harry Potter or your twentieth, we can't wait to read with you!
Hello, and welcome! My name is Ms. Rosie, and I am so excited to learn with you. I am a certified teacher from Colorado, and I have been living and teaching in Taiwan for the past two years. In addition to classroom teaching, I am also a certified Rainbow Kids Yoga teacher, and I have been trained in the Positive Discipline approach. I believe that young learners have a lot to offer the world, and that it is my responsibility as their teacher to help empower them to make their own authentic choices. I love yoga, Harry Potter, bright colors, exciting stories, and new ideas!
